For TaLeese Foreman, caring for others is more than just a job, it’s a calling.
The 42-year-old Vian resident has dedicated her career to helping those in need as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Allied Health, a role she says she didn’t choose for herself.
“I didn’t choose this occupation, it chose me,” Foreman said.
As a CNA, Foreman plays a vital role in the daily care of patients. CNA’s help individuals with basic but essential needs such as bathing, dressing, eating and mobility. They also monitor patients’ conditions, assist with hygiene, provide comfort and companionship, and help ensure patients maintain dignity and quality of life while receiving care.
It is work that requires compassion, patience and dedication, qualities Foreman believes come naturally to those meant to do it.
“In this line of work it really takes a special person to care for other people with needs that require extra help,” she said. “God made me this way and I love every bit of it. I wouldn’t change it for the world.”
Foreman’s path began close to home. A lifelong resident of Vian, she graduated from Vian High School before continuing her education at Carl Albert State College, where she earned an Associate of Science degree.
Despite wherever life may lead her, Foreman says Vian will always hold a special place in her heart.
“I grew up in Vian in Sequoyah County, and this is home,” she said. “Home is where the heart is. Vian will always be my home, no matter where I go.”
Family also plays a central role in Foreman’s life. She comes from a large family and values the connections and support they share. She is the daughter of JC Taylor and the late Donna Olive.
Her family roots run deep through both sides of her lineage. Her maternal grandparents were Almeda and Lexton Olive, while her paternal grandparents were Doretha and James Taylor.
Foreman also shares a close bond with her brother, Anthony Olive, and his wife, Kesha. One of the greatest joys in her life is her daughter, E’laya Watson.
Outside of work, Foreman enjoys spending time doing the things that bring her happiness, especially cooking and singing. She particularly loves karaoke, an activity that allows her to share her outgoing personality and love for music with others.
Whether she’s caring for patients, cooking for loved ones or singing her favorite songs, Foreman approaches life with warmth and enthusiasm.
At the center of it all is her passion for helping others, something she believes was placed in her heart for a reason.
For Foreman, caring for people isn’t just a profession. It’s part of who she is.
