Hiawatha and Brenda Newton to celebrate 68th wedding anniversary

Hiawatha and Brenda Newton will celebrate their 68th wedding anniversary on May 3.

They were married in Stilwell in 1958 and attended Sallisaw High School together.

Hiawatha is the son of L.D. and Opal Newton and was born on April 10, 1940, in Vian.

Brenda is the daughter of John Kelly Taylor and Ruby Rowland Taylor and was born on April 30, 1941, in McKey.

The couple has two children, Hiawatha Kelly and Cynthia Newton; two grandchildren, Joshua Taylor Newton and Tia Nichole Newton Ordino; and four great-grandchildren, Nolan and Ely Newton and Jax and Arla Ordino.

Hiawatha and Brenda reside in Newalla, and they also have a home in Sequoyah County.
