The Sequoyah County Sheriffs Office is asking residents to be on alert for scams. We have had several recent reports of citizens receiving calls in which the caller states there is a warrant for them, then demands money or gift cards to prevent the resident from being arrested. The scammers are attempting to make their scam appear more legitimate by using names of deputies who currently work for the Sheriff s Office.
