Residents getting crafty
By Annette Crowder Vian Nursing & Rehab,

Hello again and welcome summer. Wow, is it hot outside or what. We have decided it’s a great time to be indoors and are so thankful for air conditioning.

We are having imagination vacations in our armchair travels and this week we visited Ontario, Canada and learned a little history along the way. We have stamped our passports and are ready to travel to a new destination.

We enjoyed watermelon and fireworks on July 1, as we are fortunate that the town’s fireworks show is clearly visible from our porches. The residents have always enjoyed the fireworks shows and were not disappointed, as it was a wonderful show and the weather was perfect.

We are going to be working with clay this week and attempt to make pots. It should be fun. We have the stamps to decorate them as well as the paints to paint them. I’m excited. I hope they turn out as well as we hope. We are also going to try our hand at cake pops, as it’s going to be cake day and we always enjoy a snack or two. We will also be making homemade ice cream in a baggie. It’s simple. Lots of fun and oh so yummy.

We have lots of fun activities planned indoors, but we will be going out for a drive around the lake and a few shopping trips in the next few weeks as well.

Special thanks to Ruby, Raymond and Raynita for always thinking of us. Never a holiday or special occasion goes by without them remembering us. We so appreciate you. Also thank you Gerry and Sheryl Baze. What an amazing show the residents so enjoyed it. They are still talking about it. We look forward to your return on the 20th.

Well I guess that’s all for now, so until next time… God bless…Annette
