Gore Lady Pirates beat Gans, Webbers Falls for perfect week
By David Seeley Sports Editor,

The Lady Pirates came out of the Labor Day Holiday Weekend in style by blanking the Gans Lady Grizzlies 18-0 on Sept. 5.

Then, they handled the Webbers Falls Lady Warriors 15-7 on Thursday at home.

In the win over Gans, which avenged the Lady Grizzlies’ 23-12 win over the Lady Pirates on Aug. 15 in Gore, after scoring three runs in the first inning and five runs in the second inning, the Lady Pirates (7-14) put the game into runrule status with a 10-run third inning.

For the game, River Shoemake was 2-for-3 with a double, three runs scored and a run batted in, Paige Curran was 2-for-2 with a double, four runs scored and four RBIs, Natalie Casteel was 2-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and a run scored, Kynley Webb was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored and Sophie O’Connor doubled and scored twice for Gore.

Cheyanne Davidson got the win, throwing a three-inning no-hitter with four strikeouts.

In the victory over Webbers Falls, after falling behind 4-0 in the first inning, the Lady Pirates scored twice in the first inning and seven times in the second inning for a 9-4 lead they never relinquished.

For the game, Emily Daily was 2-for-3 with a double, three runs scored and a run batted in, Kendra Huckbay was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored, River Shoemake doubled with two runs scored and an RBI, Casteel doubled with two RBIs and a run scored, Kennedy Williams doubled with an RBI and a run scored and Cadi Shoemake tripled with five RBIs and two runs scored.
