Gore, Webbers Falls runners compete at Camp Gruber

Warriors win second straight elementary race team title

BRAGGS — Gore and Webbers Falls cross country runners competed in Thursday’s Camp Gruber Invitational near Braggs.

In the high school girls’ division, Gore’s Hallie Kinion made the top 15 as she was 12th (21:53).

The Lady Pirates also had three other runners compete as Dawa Reece was 76th (30:19), Amelia White was 79th (30:46) and Gracie Bruce was 90th (32:27).

Webbers Falls lone high school runner was Cheyanne Herrier, who was 29th (24:43).

The elementary school boys team title was claimed by the Webbers Falls Warriors with 16 points. It was their second straight team win after winning the Gore Invitational on Aug. 31.

Bryson Priest was the overall individual champion, Skylar Powless was runner-up, Wyatt Chitty was third, Kylar Carter was fourth and Bryson Franco was sixth.

The Pirates were 13th in the junior high boys race team standings with 333 points.

Colton Frye was the fastest Gore runner, finishing the course in 15:25 to place 74th. Rylee Lane was 78th (15:31), Cole Broooksher was 85th (15:36), Trenton Cunningham was 86th (15:36), Cale Cox was 100th (16:05) and Western Cunningham was 114th (16:35).

The Warriors had two runners compete in the JH boys race as Joseph Moore was 79th (15:32) and Bently Priest was 178th (23:12).

The junior high girls race had three locals compete. Gore’s Ashlynn Munson was 71st (18:24), Gore’s Taylor Kinion was 81st (19:22) and Webbers Falls’ Peyton Shanks was 111th (21:39).

Gore had three elementary boys finish in the top 20 — Eli Montgomery, Quinn Montgomery and Kaden Elam. Other elementary boys who participated were Jett Ward, Tripp Smith, Lane Harwood, Thorn Cearley and Ian Munson, while elementary girls who ran in the meet were Aliva Munson, Elle Keathley, Karsyn Springer, Blakely Smith, River Johnson, Kymberlynn Quick and Annika Pruitt.
