AOG customers will pay less for gas this winter

Arkansas Oklahoma Gas (AOG) customers will pay less for their natural gas usage this winter compared to the last three winters. On Nov. 1, new cost of gas rates for AOG’s Arkansas and Oklahoma customers will be effective.

The new cost of gas rate for Arkansas residential customers is $0.5296 per ccf, which is a 51.8-percent decrease from winter 2022 cost of gas. The new cost of gas rate for Oklahoma residential customers is $0.4383 per ccf, which is a 38.5-percent decrease from winter 2022 cost of gas.

“Our team is dedicated to obtaining the lowest natural gas prices for our customers, and we are grateful customers will see lower bills this winter than they saw last year,” said Fred Kirkwood, Chief Customer Experience Officer for AOG. “We encourage customers who face challenges paying their bills to call our customer service department for payment and billing options and information on payment assistance programs that can help you and your family be safe and warm this winter.”

AOG customers are receiving the benefit of AOG’s legal victory against BP Energy Company (BP). Earlier this year AOG was awarded $18 million in a breach of contract lawsuit after BP failed to deliver natural gas supply in February 2021 during Winter Storm Uri, which resulted in increased gas costs for customers. The award amount reduces gas costs for customers and is reflected in Arkansas customers’ cost of gas rates effective November 1. Oklahoma customers will see a reduction in their Winter Storm Uri rider rate effective November 1.

The APSC and OCC require AOG to adjust its cost of gas November 1 and April 1 of each year. AOG does not profit from the cost of natural gas delivered to its customers’ homes or businesses.

Those looking for assistance can visit aogc. com/PaymentAssistance or call customer service from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday-Friday at 800-842-5690.
