Romans 6:16 “Knowye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?” I just read an article this week about bananas. The experts’ are now telling us that we peel and eat bananas all wrong. They want us to turn the bananas upside down and peel them from the bottom. Why? They observed how monkeys ate bananas and saw them peeling them from the bottom instead of the top. They have been working from a government grant to figure out how monkeys ate bananas and why. Their conclusion? Man has been doing it all wrong for a century at least. A monkey peels his banana his bananas upside down because ‘they claim’ this removes the strings on the sides of the banana. Wow! What a wonderful scientific discovery!
If they used the same amount of time & money to study the Bible instead of a monkey peeling a banana, then much of the world would have a different report! John 5:39 “Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.” 2Timothy 2:15 “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
Most people today to a certain extent, play Monkey See, Monkey Do, but I have noted that the only thing they question is the common sense laws of nature and they question the existence of God Almighty.
Only this week I have needed to stop reading my news feed because of all the stupidity that is being published as fact. I don’t care how many experts you reference, you will not convince me that a man can have babies! Ten years ago, this would have been an idiotic thought, yet today, the experts’ say that it is true! What happened?
Paul gives the example of master and servant. No man can serve two masters. Before we were saved, we yielded ourselves to sin, and were the servants of sin. Believing in a Holy God that condemns this unfruitful way of thinking and action, tells us that those who believe it and practice it have rejected God. God speaks of this in Romans chapter one.
Romans 1:21-32 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
Several things stand out here. I will touch on two of them. ‘Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools’ is the first one. It follows the fact that they knew God and rejected Him! Some head monkey said he did not believe in God and all the little monkeys took up the chant. Some great scientist says that men can have a baby and all the little people take up the chant. Do saying it over and over make it true?
I’ll close with the last part of the last verse we looked at. “not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them”. Sometimes I think the devil starts something absolutely stupid like this just to ‘have pleasure in them that do them’. He is laughing and mocking the stupidity of man that would even believe that men can have babies, He roars with laughter when the ‘experts’ say there are many genders instead of just two, male and female. He almost collapses in glee when he sees some foolish person telling people he identifies as a cat. I would probably laugh at that last one myself, if it was so pitiful.
Lost person, seek God! Trust the Christ of the Bible. John 1:17 “For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.” Seek grace and truth!
