Jimmy Blaine Story

Jan. 3, 1953 – Feb. 2, 2024

Mr. Story was born on Jan. 3, 1953, in Cushing to Reggie Robert Jr. and Betty Jean (Broyles) Story. He died on Friday, Feb. 2, 2024, in Oklahoma City.

He graduated from Perkins Public Schools, Murray State College and Oklahoma State University. He had a degree in Agriculture Education. He taught Ag-Ed for five years before pursuing a 30year career in training and racing horses across the United States. He was president of the Oklahoma Horsemen’s Benevolent and Protective Association and was General Manager of Blue Ribbon Downs in Sallisaw.

Survivors include daughter, Terrill Story of Perkins; Bryan Greer of Perkins; son, Tyson and Ashley Story of Perkins; his mother, Betty Harper of Perkins; one brother, Dr. Bob Story of Perkins; two sisters, Belinda and Kenny Beams and Lisa and Brian Myers of Perkins; several grandchildren; and other family members and friends.

A Celebration of Life service for Jimmy Blaine Story, 71, was held at 9 a.m., Sunday, Feb. 18, 2024, at the Golf Club at Cimarron Trails in Perkins. The Celebration was followed by a day of golf.

Arrangements were under the direction of Signature Cremation & Funeral Care of Oklahoma City.
