Funeral services for Lula Asbill, 95, were held at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 8, 2024, at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw. Burial followed at Sallisaw City Cemetery under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
Mrs. Asbill was born on Aug. 1, 1928, in Sequoyah County to Jim and Grace Pruitt. She died on Sunday, March 3, 2024, in Wichita, Kan.
She graduated from Sallisaw High School in 1947 and retired from Western Electric.
She was married to Walter Parker Asbill in 1948 and he preceded her in death in 2002.
Survivors are two brothers, Kenneth (Rosa) Pruitt of Wichita and Terry (Linda) Pruitt of Sallisaw; and one aunt, Mable Ellis.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Walter Lee Asbill; four brothers, J.D., George, Hooley and Junior; and a sister, Bonnie Rogers.
Pallbearers were JT Pruitt, Eddie Pruitt, Jimmy Rogers, Garrison Pruitt, Garrett Pruitt and Grant Pruitt.
