Graveside service for Richard Oliver Taylor, 89, of McKey Hill, was held Friday, March 15, 2024, at Buffington Cemetery, under the direction Forever Memories Funeral Services, Inc., Sallisaw.
Mr. Taylor was born on March 8, 1935, to Clifton Breckenridge Taylor and Auda Euphema Mattox Taylor. He died on March 9, 2024, in Sallisaw.
He graduated from Sallisaw High School in 1953. He served in the Army in 1958 and then went to work for Southwestern Wood Preserving Company in Sallisaw. He worked on various ranches in Sequoyah County until his retirement.
Survivors are two sons, Clifford Taylor and wife Kim of McKey and Jim Choate of Dwight Mission; daughter, Robin Taylor Morris and husband Alan of Sallisaw; brother, Clifton Taylor of McKey; two sisters, Euphema Taylor Thoe of Humble, Texas and Linda Maxwell of McKey; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Wynona Taylor Yackubosky and Joan Faye Harper; and two brothers, John Famous Taylor and Quannah Ray Taylor.
Pallbearers were Matthew Taylor, Dustin Morris, Alan Morris, J.P. Wickett, Connor Davis and Ethan Morris.
Honorary pallbearers were Rex Brooks, Richard Morris, Craig Edgmon and Mackie Brooks.
