Webbers Falls Warriors get home-opening wins over Canadian, Quinton; final games of week rained out
By David Seeley Sports Editor,

The Webbers Falls Warriors won their first two home games of the season on March 11 with a 9-2 win over Canadian and a 9-3 win over Quinton.

However, the rest of the week’s games were won by Mother Nature as Thursday afternoon’s home game with Gans was rained out and Friday afternoon’s road three-way with McCurtain at Howe was canceled due to wet fields.

In the win over Canadian, the Warriors (4-1) erupted for eight runs in the first inning to put away the game.

For the contest, Braydan Robinson doubled with a run batted in and two runs scored, while Aiden Turley singled with two RBIs and a run scored for Webbers Falls.

Brutus Robinson (10) got the win, striking out seven batters and throwing a two-hitter.

In the win over Quinton, the Warriors rallied from a 3-1 third-inning deficit with a three-run third inning and a fiverun fourth inning for a 9-3 lead after four innings.

For the game, Braydan Robinson was 3-for-3 with a double, a home run, four RBIs and two runs scored, while Turley was 2-for-3 with two runs scored for the Warriors.

Stryker Chappell (2-1) got the win in relief, going the final four innings with seven strikeouts. Turley went the first inning with three Ks.

The Warriors were slated to play Gore in the final game of a three-way Tuesday at Muldrow, then welcome Arkoma to town for a noon Thursday contest to make up the March 1 meeting at Arkoma that was canceled. Then, the Warriors will end Spring Break Week with a road three-way with Haskell at Cameron beginning at 1 p.m. Saturday.
