A memorial service for James L. “Jim” Morton, 94, was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 23, 2024, at the South Yukon Church of Christ, under the direction of Yanda & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Yukon.

Burial was at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 22, 2024, at Fort Sill National Cemetery, with full military honors.

Mr. Morton was born on March 8, 1930, near Gore, to Frank and Minnie Morton. He died on Tuesday, March 12, 2024.

He graduated from Oklahoma State University in June 1951, and married his wife, Marge. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma with an MBA in 1955 and achieved his CPA certification. He entered the Air Force in 1951 and began a 26year career with the Office of Special Investigations. He retired in June 1977 as a Colonel.

He then worked for the National Bank for Farm Cooperatives in California for four years before transferring to the Denver office for 14 years as Sr. Vice President.

Survivors are his wife, Marge, of nearly 73 years; brother, Don Morton; son, Jim H. Morton; daughter, Becky Little; several grandchildren and greatgrandchildren; and other family members and friends.
