Matthew 28:19-20 “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” The three legged stool has many advantages. The best is that it is selfleveling. Anything with four legs needs careful measurement to be even, yet it is necessary to set it on a completely flat surface or it will rock. The three-legged stool is not contingent on the surface (exterior circumstance) for its stability. It can sit on any surface and still be stable. There are many three legged stools in Scripture. The most important is the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. This Triune Godhead is the fundamental teaching in the Word of God. Your belief must be in all three or your salvation is like the four legged stool. It will depend on your circumstances to be stable. There are many religions that do not believe in a Triune Godhead, thinking somehow that they are all separate persons instead of God having the ability to have one essence but three persons.
