Former Vian softball player’s EOSC Lady Mountaineers go 3-2 last week
By David Seeley Sports Editor,

Former Vian Lady Wolverine softball player Greenlee Wells and her Eastern Oklahoma State College Lady Mountaineers went 3-2 last week.

The week started with an 8-0 win over Northeastern Oklahoma A&M on April 23 in Wilburton, but Game 2 was rained out. That was followed by a pair of doubleheader splits.

On Thursday in Warner, the Lady Mountaineers split a road twinbill with Connors State College, winning the nightcap 16-8 after losing the opener 2-1.

On Saturday in Midwest City, EOSC split a road doubleheader against Rose State College, taking the nightcap 8-4 after falling in the opener 8-1.

In the win over NEO, Wells was 2-for-2 with two home runs, five runs batted in and three runs scored for the Lady Mountaineers (29-15 overall, 16-6 in Region II Conference play).

In the Game 1 loss to Connors State, Wells went 1-for-3, while enjoying a 2-for-4 outing in the nightcap with two runs scored and a run batted in.

In the Saturday opener loss to Rose State, Wells doubled in three at-bats, while going 2-for-6 with a run scored in Game 2 for EOSC.

Through 44 games, Wells is hitting .457 with 13 doubles, 23 home runs, 68 RBIs and 51 runs scored.

The Lady Mountaineers were slated to play a road doubleheader Monday against archrival Carl Albert State College in Poteau and will close out the regular season with a road twinbill at Seminole State College at 2 p.m. Thursday.
