Gore senior runner, Webbers Falls Lady Warriors’ relay team qualify for state

OKEMAH — Gore Lady Pirate senior runner Hallie Kinion and the Webbers Falls Lady Warriors 3,200-meter relay team made it to last weekend’s Class A-2A State Meet, which took place at Oklahoma City Western Heights High School, by doing well at last week’s regional meet, which took place April 29.

In the Class 2A Regional Meet, Kinion automatically qualified in three events as she was the regional champion in the 800-meter run (2:21.54) and was the regional runnerup in the 400-meter dash (1:02.24) and the 1,600-meter run (5:47.95).

In the Class A Regional Meet, the Lady Warriors’ 3,200-meter relay team of Cheyanne Herrier, Bridgette Baer, Teralynn Colston and Abby Pense was third with a time of 4:39.89 to automatically qualify for state.

As for other Gore Lady Pirates, Kailey Mannon was 11th (29.83 seconds), Gracie Bruce was 18th (31.4) and Sierra Pettit was 26th (32.93) in the 200-meter dash, Rayleigh Moore was 11th (6:54.68) and Ricki Huckbay was 19th (7:31.8) in the 1,600-meter run, Amelia White was 13th (1:08.14) and Mannon was 19th (1:12.37) in the 400-meter dash, Emily Daily was 17th (14.4 seconds), Bruce was 27th (15.31) and Huckbay was 32nd (16.23) in the 100-meter dash, Moore was ninth in the 800-meter run (2:49.48) and Huckbay was 35th in the discus (42-10).

As for Lady Pirates’ relays, Daily, White, Moore and Kinion were sixth in the 1,600-meter relay (4:34.84), while White, Mannon, Daily and Pettit were 10th in the 800-meter relay (1:58.74).

For the Pirates, the highest finisher was Journey Shells, who was fifth in the high jump (5-8), seventh in the 300-meter hurdles (44.92 seconds) and 14th in the 400-meter dash (57.06).

As for other Pirates individually, Tate Brooksher tied for eighth (17-9) and Keeton Rowe was 18th (16-4.5) in the long jump, Antonio Parker was 10th (99-3) and Luis Schyktanz was 14th (97-3) in the discus, Burr Jaynes was 11th in the 800-meter run (2:21.69), Rowe was 15th (12.15), Brooksher was 27th (12.83) and Gabe Hefley was 28th (12.88) in the 100-meter dash, Parker was 16th (36-4) and Schyktanz was 27th (30-11) in the shot put, Rowe was 16th (24.16) and Hefley was 27th (25.22) in the 200-meter dash and Hefley was 20th in the 400-meter dash (58.67).

As for other Lady Warriors individually, Herrier was fourth in the 3,200-meter run (14:39.08), while she was sixth (6:35.52) and Hailey Shanks was eighth (7:16.16) in the 1,600-meter run. Abby Pense was fourth (137.75), Baer tied for sixth (13-5) and Abbie Patterson was 24th (8-4) in the long jump, Shannon Pense was 11th in the 100-meter hurdles (21.23 seconds), while Colston was 11th (56.43), Shannon Pense was 15th (1:00.6) and Abby Pense was 16th (1:04.34) in the 300-meter hurdles. Baer was 14th in the 100-meter dash (14.64), while Patterson was 14th in the shot put (23-2). Patterson was 19th (3:12.22) and Shanks was 20th (3:19.55) in the 800-meter run.

One other Lady Warriors’ relay team placed as Abby Pense, Baer, Shannon Pense and Colston were seventh in the 1,600-meter relay (4:39.89).

On the boys side for the Warriors, Braydan Robinson was 15th in the shot put (34-6) and the long jump (14-6.5), while placing 19th in both the discus (76-9) and the 800-meter run (2:35.54). Clayton Roberts was 12th (15-1) and Dawson Littlefield was 14th (14-8.75) in the long jump, while Roberts was 16th (12.66 seconds) and Littlefield was 32nd (15.24) in the 100-meter dash. Littlefield was 26th in the 200-meter dash (27.7).

No Vian track athletes qualified for the Class 2A State Meet as they did not place high enough at the regional meet on April 29.

For the Wolverines, the highest finisher was Jacob Brannick, who was 11th in the 100-meter dash (12.08 seconds), while he was 15th in the 200-meter dash (24.14). Nathan Cheater was 12th (384), Peyton Johnson was 17th (36-3) and Clay Clark was 24th (32-7) in the shot put, Etthan Bullock was 14th in the long jump (16-11.25) and in the 200-meter dash (24.04), Austin Wilson was 16th (57.52) and Nathan Creasey was 33rd (1:04.78) in the 400-meter dash and Ashton Robinson was 36th in the 200-meter dash (26.67).

As for the Lady Wolverines, Tina Rautenberg was sixth in the 300-meter hurdles (55.13 seconds), Halli Russell was seventh (14-2.5), Annie Neal was 15th (13-1.5) and Sidney Cox was 30th (11-6.75) in the long jump, Aubrey Gant tied for 10th (4-8) and Brooke Byers was 15th (4-4) in the high jump and Kala Gibbins was ninth in the 300-meter hurdles (59.95) and 11th in the 100-meter hurdles (20.13). Tina Rautenberg was 12th in the 100-meter hurdles (20.2), Neal was 16th (30.55), Cox was 21st (31.79) and Byers was 22nd (31.97) in the 200-meter dash, Gant was 22nd in the 400-meter dash (1:17.58), Carmen Rautenberg was 23rd in the 800-meter run (3:08.63), Izzy Clouse and Carmen Rautenberg tied for 25th in the discus (60-0) and Clouse was 30th in the shot put (22-4).
