Ms. Jordan’s Dance Studio performs Mulan

Ms. Jordan’s Dance Studio performs Mulan

Ms. Jordan’s Dance Studio will present their spring recital, Mulan, at the Skokos Performing Arts Center in Alma, Ark. on Saturday, June 15, with two performances at 2 and 7 p.m.

The dance studio found inspiration from different adaptations and historical writings of Mulan, incorporating their own unique concepts and ideas. Their production sets itself apart from other versions of Mulan by striving to create authentically unique and original narrative.

Performing the role of Mulan is Avery Warner, a graduating senior from Central High School. She has won numerous top awards at competition.

Mulan’s narrative imparts valuable lessons on confronting challenges with courage, resilience, and bravery. The story underscores the significance of the “Three Virtues”- Loyal, Brave, and True – as portrayed in the 1998 film. When Mulan looks at her reflection in the mirror, she envisions someone embodying these virtues.

In the dance studio’s adaptation, Mulan bravely takes her father’s place as a soldier to protect China, risking fatal consequences if her true identity as a woman is revealed. As she discovers her inner strength, she unveils her true self, her “truth.”

The Emperor of China praises Mulan for her courageous sacrifice, loyalty to her family, bravery in embracing the life of a soldier, and the discovery of her true self.

Mulan is a take of courage and resilience. The legendary Mulan risks everything out of love for her family. She is tested every step of the way and must harness her inner strength. Mulan is transformed into an honored warrior and earns the respect of a grateful nation and a proud father.

Tickets are for sale online or can be purchased the day of the performance at the center’s box office.
