‘For it is an evil time

“Hear this word which I take up against you, a lame ntation, O house of Israel: For thus says the Lord to the house of Israel: “Seek Me and live;” For I know your manifold transgressions And your mighty sins: “For it is an evil time.” Seek good and not evil, That you may live; So the Lord God of hosts will be with you,…”

“Hate evil, love good; Establish justice in the gate. It may be that the Lord God of hosts Will be gracious.. .’’Amos 5:115

Repent

Amos (‘burden bearer”) herdsman, and cultivator of sycamore trees. God called him to be a prophet. He was a layman, humble farmer and shepherd, and not a member of the Jewish religious or political establishment. He had a message from God..Thus says the Lord God.. .’’Hear this word.” Repent!

As I read Amos, I see America and the True Church. I also hear God speaking to us. Yes, it was addressed to the house of Israel (Northern Kingdom) but it also has a message for us today. Unless we “hear this word,” we will also fade away as a Nation.

God is speaking to America and to all Nations. He speaks to the leaders of our Nation. He is also speaking to the leaders in the True Church (born-again leaders).

Does the Church need to repent? Yes!!! Unless the Church repents things can only get worse for the Church holds the message of Christ and message of obedience to God.

Sin

God says, “For I know your manifold transgressions And your mighty sins: (Amos 5:12). The United States loves sin today! Many professing Christians also love sin! Christians are called to love and worship God the Creator thru Jesus Christ. I know some who are ignoring His Word…living in sin! Christians are guilty! Guilty of disobedience! We are not praying as we should nor are we seeking God. We can expect discipline!

We watch and allow the “world” to take away our Biblical Beliefs… Marriage between one man and one woman, Abortion, God alone decides life and death, Freedom to speak our convictions of Christ and His salvation, Cross and Nativity removed, churches threatened, Ten Commandments removed. We must take a second look at who we are in Christ.

Being politically correct is so popular today. .. a sermon from hell! We had better listen up…’’Hear this.”

“Thus says the Lord God” America you are in the deep waters of sin! “Seek Me and live;” Unless we call upon the Lord we will cease to be the Nation He called us to be.. .Christian Nation taking the Gospel to the World.

We are the Nation of freedom as long as we live by His Laws and not the laws of the world. God calls us to repent… return to Him! He called Israel to repent and they would not! (Amos 4:611). Because they would not repent and accept His correction He told them.. .’’Prepare to meet your God.”

He speaks this message to America. “See that you do not refuse Him who speaks. For if they did not escape who refused Him who spoke on earth, much more shall we not escape if we turn away from Him who speaks from heaven,” (Heb 12:25-26). We have turned a deaf ear to His Word. We are not hearing! We can expect judgment!

Yes, the True Church must repent! “Hate evil, love good;” Amos grieved over the sin of the Nation. The vital signs were not good. The Nation was dying! Invaded by Assyria and ceased to be. “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, (Ps 33:12).

When God abandons a Nation, local church or Christian there is no victory! No hope! If the Church has a revival, there must be true repentance and returning to God, then the hearing of His Word…with obedience. Pray for revival!

“For thus says the Lord to the house of Israel: “Seek Me and live;” (Amos 5:4).

If you are born again, let” pray for revival in the Church. It only takes one! Christian let go of the world, live for God that He may use you to see others saved from Hell.

Judgment is at the door! We haven’t seen anything yet!

Repent!!!
