ATF Muskogee Field Office Resident Agent in Charge Ashley Stephens (right) recently presented ATF TF0 and Sequoyah County Investigator Chris Grizzle with a plaque from the National Crime Gun Intelligence Governing Board for his exceptional work in the Corey Pettit case. Pettit was recently sentenced to 50 months in the BOP after pleading guilty to being a felon in possession of ammunition. During the investigation, TFO Grizzle matched a shell casing found at a shooting crime scene to a casing found at Pettit’s residence. Even without recovering the firearm, NIBIN linked the casings, allowing investigators to remove a violent trigger puller off the streets of Marble City, making not only Sequoyah County safer but also upholding the federal government’s trust responsibly to their tribal partners in the Cherokee Nation.
