Chamber announces winners of Cruise Night, Car Show & Poker Run
By AMIE CATO-REMER Editor

The Gore Chamber of Commerce has announced the winners of the 22nd annual Gore Cruise Night, Car Show & Poker Run, which was held on Sept. 21 in downtown Gore.

Known as one of Oklahoma’s biggest, baddest 2-lane cruise events, over $10,000 in cash/prizes was given away throughout the day. Organizers said this was one of their biggest events yet, bringing in an enormous crowd of both participants and on-lookers.

The day started with a free poker run sponsored by Sequoyah Fuels and hosted by the Lower Illinois Cherokee Connection, with all donations going to Paralyzed Veterans of America. Best hand received $1,000, while the worst hand snagged $500, plus prize giveaways.

The car show consisted of competitors from all over vying for the $1,000 Chero- kee Nation Best in Show and 20 other graded/ subjective awards. Doug Dye of Arkansas, and brother of Vicki Tincher of Gore, took home Best in Show.

Other winners of the car show were Mike McKinney, Bret Hammack, Tricia Mitchell, Desmond Dan, Rodney Ball, Darrell Long, Eddie Martin, Derek Holland, Schuyler Montgomery, Darwin Boy, Derek Hawk, Jaimie Warrior, Tammy Carter, Kelly Remer, and Lester Keathley. The Chamber also wishes to thank all of their sponsors for donating to this year’s Car Show & Poker Run: (main sponsors) Riverside Equipment and Services, Lower Illinois Cherokee Connection, Sequoyah Fuels, Souter Limestone & Minerals, and Cherokee Nation; (other sponsors) Gore Chamber of Commerce, Gore Bait & Tackle, Gawkskey Smoke Shop, Eastern Oklahoma Medical, El Lago, Armstrong Bank, Green Country Drug, Professional Pest Control, Two Rivers Cannabis, Century21 First Choice Realty, Sweet Nana’s Donut Shop, Gary Shamblin Concrete, Gambino’s Pizza, Gore Nursing Center, Gore Public Works Authority, Town of Gore, Busted Knuckle Body Shop, Pine Cove Marina, MarVal Resort, Harps, OG&E, Cookson Hills Electric, Gore Turbo Wash, Tenkiller Lake & Land, Autozone, and O’Reilly’s.
