‘Tagged’ as Christian – Living By God’s Laws

“And it came to pass after many days that the word of the I Lord came to Elijah, in the third year, saying, “Go, present yourself to Ahab, and I will send rain on the earth” (1 Kings 18:1).

“So Elijah went to present himself to Ahab…” (1 Kings 18:2).

“Then it happened, when Ahab saw Elijah, that Ahab said to him, “Is that you, O troubler of Israel?”

“And he answered, “I have not troubled Israel, but you and your father’s house have, in that you have forsaken the commandments of the Lord and have followed the Ba als” (I Kings 18:17-19).

Believing God

“The word of the Lord, hide by the Brook”.. .The ravens will feed you.

“The word of the Lord, Arise, go to Zarephath… a widow will provide for you.” “The word of the Lord came to Elijah in the third year, saying, “Go present yourself to Ahab, and I will send rain on the earth” And Elijah went. Faithful Elijah!

Judgment Comes

Israel was in drought and famine for three and half years because of idolatry. Wicked king Ahab and Jezebel had led Israel to worship Baal, instead of the God of Israel. They had ignored the Law of God…The Ten Commandments. When you vote God’s Laws out of the Nation, judgment will come. Their judgment was drought and famine. Maybe we need three and half years of drought and famine, to get our attention back on God. Israel did not stand firm. They fell into evil worship…idolatry!

Elijah was prepared to go on “mission.” He believed His God was faithful! He experienced the power of God first hand, didn’t need to read about it in the paper. He was a personal witness to the widow, and led her to worship God.

Do people know you are a true Believer in Jesus Christ, because of the words from your mouth? Are you a light that draws others to the Cross?

Message

Elijah is ready to meet wicked king Ahab. He has a message for him. “My God is Lord, He is God!”

“…when Ahab saw Elijah, that Ahab said to him, “Is that you, O troubler of Israel?” This is just like the devil, to put the blame on God’s man! Sounds like the same song evil sings today.

Elijah was bold and didn’t mind being “tagged” and called it like it was. And he answered, “I have not troubled Israel, but you and your father’s house have, in that you have forsaken the commandments of the Lord and have followed the Baals” (1 Kings 18:18-19). Elijah told Ahab later: “you have sold yourself to do evil in the sight of the Lord.”

Ahabs Today

When you sell out to the devil, you will do anything! We have too many “Ahabs” in places of national, denominational, church leadership and even in our homes. Christians must rise up in “bold witness” of our God. If we love Him and are thankful, let’s stand on His laws. Be Tagged!!!

Elijah’s message to Ahab: Meet me on Mount Carmel, bring your 450 false prophets, also bring along the 400 prophets, who eat at Jezebel’s table.

Message to Israel: “How long will you falter between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him.” But the people answered him not a word. (1 Kings 18:21-22).

The problem today is with many who profess Christ, who are more involved with the ‘worldly worship’ than with true worship of the Lord God, Father of Jesus Christ. They were enjoying sin, sexual sin! The Holy Spirit convicts of sin, you make the choice, to obey God or disobey Him.

Christians need to stand up, pray, be faithful in service. Be ready for the enemy when he opens his mouth. These people knew the Law, and that God had blessed them, but even in famine which took many lives they still sit on their “selfish, sinful and religious pews! Hunger didn’t move them! Idolatry takes you one step at a time until you are deaf to God’s Word.

Being “tagged” means your light shines in the face of evil. They had been “conformed” not “transformed”!

Be Tagged Today! Vote for God’s Laws!
