Local cross country runners hope to make state with strong regional meets Saturday

The postseason has arrived for the local cross country runners as they will run in their respective regional meets on Saturday.

The Gore and Webbers Falls teams will run in the Class 2A Regional Meet beginning at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Henryetta’s Nichols Park.

The Central Lady Tigers and Central’s Kyle Reed will participate in the Class 2A Regional Meet at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at North Rock Creek High School near Shawnee.

The top five teams automatically will qualify all their members to the state Meet Nov. 2 at Edmond Santa Fe High School. For Reed as well as any individual Gore and/or Webbers Falls runners, if any of them are among the top 12 individuals who are not on one of the five teams who qualify everyone to state, they, too, will be a state qualifier.
