Edwin Thomas McCulley

March 1, 1957 – Oct. 20, 2024

Wake service was held at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2024, at Sand Creek Eufaula Baptist Church in Wewoka.

Mr. McCulley was born on March 1, 1957, in Los Angeles, Calif. to Frank McCulley and Effie (Harjo) McCulley. He passed away on Sunday, Oct. 20, 2024, at his home in Gore.

He married Linda (Nofire) McCulley on Aug. 25, 2013, in Tahlequah.

He attended Jones Academy, Sequoyah High School, graduated from Eufaula High School, and received a bachelors degree from Texas A&M.

He worked as an Electrical Engineer until retirement. He served in the Army in Vietnam and Korea. He enjoyed sports, fishing, being outdoors, working out, mowing, attending church, and spending time with his family. He was an avid OU sports fan and could speak fluent Creek.

He is survived by his wife, Linda McCulley of the home; children, Frank Ryan McCulley of Shawnee and Kaylyn McCulley of Tulsa; step-sons, Ryan Adair and Chad Adair, both of Sallisaw; two grandchildren, and special grandson, Steeler Adair; eight bonus grandchildren; five bonus great-grandchildren; siblings, Lottie Mae Coody and husband Harold of Wewoka, Evelyn Barron of Shawnee, William McCulley and wife Roberta of Tahlequah, Marilyn Moore of Midwest City, and Coleen McCulley of Albuquerque, N.M.; along with numerous other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Mary Jo Bear, Jesse Leader, Leon Culley Harjo, Joyce Alexander, Gilbert McCulley, Kenneth Mc-Culley, Johnny Boy McCulley and Celena Sanchez.

Pallbearers were Elvin “Bossy” Drywater, Eric Yahola, Richard Dunn, Gilbert Hokkolen McCulley, Mitch McCulley and Michael Leader.

Honorary pallbearers were his nephews.

Funeral service for Edwin Thomas McCulley, 67, of Gore, was held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 24, 2024, at Sand Creek Eufaula Baptist Church in Wewoka with Pastor Houston Tiger officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home in Wewoka.

Graveside service was held at 1 p.m., Friday, Oct. 25, 2024, at Tahlequah City Cemetery.
