Gore Pirates wrestlers place three at Paul Post Classic after going 2-4 in District Duals

The Gore Pirates wrestling team placed three wrestlers in last weekend’s 64th annual Paul Post Classic, which took place last Friday and Saturday at Sallisaw High School’s Paul Post Field House.

Kaydin McCartney was seventh at heavyweight, Bladin Mc-Cartney was ninth at 165 pounds and Devon Mannon was 11th at 157 pounds. Antonio Parker went 1-2 at 215 pounds and Cole Brooksher fell short in all four matches he wrestled at 144 pounds.

Last Wednesday, the Pirates went 2-4 at the District 3A-7 Duals, beating Prague (27-0) and Sequoyah-Tahlequah (24-12) but losing to host Sperry (54-24), Pawhuska (75-6), Hulbert (42–24) and Tulsa Victory Christian (60-18).

Kaydin McCartney went 6-0 at heavyweight, Mannon (157 pounds) and Bladin McCartney (165) each went 5-1, Parker went 4-2 at 215 pounds and Brooksher went 2-4 at 144 pounds.

The Pirates will be at the 2025 Maverick Conference Tournament, which will take place this Friday and Saturday in Stilwell.
