Funeral services for Joyce Ann (Ward) Fears, 81, of Muldrow, were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2025, at the Agent & Mallory-Martin Chapel in Muldrow.
Burial was at 4 p.m. at Goodell Cemetery in Drury, Kan., under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home.
Mrs. Fears was born on Oct. 31, 1943, in Caldwell, Kan., to Robert Lee Ward and Virginia Mae (Humble) Ward. Shed died on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2025, in Fort Smith, Ark.
She married Josh Fears on Aug. 13, 1966, in Caldwell. He preceded her in death on Dec. 9, 2014.
She worked for 20 years as a secretary for Central Public School. She was also a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Fort Smith.
Survivors include one son, Jason and Rebecca Fears of Fort Smith, one sister, Jean Ward of Caldwell, Kan.; one brother, Steven Ward of Caldwell; one grandchild; and other family members and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Jeffrey Fears; and one brother, Johnny Ward.
