Ira Eugene ‘Butch’ Rolston

Dec. 27, 1946 – Feb. 12, 2025

Funeral services for Ira Eugene “Butch” Rolston, 78, of Sallisaw, were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 17, 2025, at the First Assembly of God Church in Sallisaw. Burial followed at Box Cemetery in Vian, under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

Mr. Rolston was born on Dec. 27, 1946, in Muskogee, to Katherine (Dever) Rolston and Charlie Cecil Rolston. He passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2025, in Sallisaw.

He was a graduate of Vian High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He was married to Kathy Davis on July 5, 1967, in Blackgum.

He worked as an inhalation therapy technician at Muskogee Hospital while pursuing his education and graduating from Northeastern State University. He served honorably for five years as a Tulsa Police Officer before joining the U.S. Treasury as a Special Agent, from which he retired with distinguished honors.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy; daughter, Heather Martinez and husband Victor of Austin, Texas; son, Shawn Rolston and wife Ashley of Sallisaw; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by twin sons, Patrick and Gene; his parents; brother, Eldon; and nephew, Wayne.

Pallbearers were Randy Rolston, Chance Rolston, Steve Rolston, Steve Davis, and Jerry Watts.

Honorary pallbearers were Victor Martinez, Ethan Martinez, Kenny Holloway, Reese Pilkington, and Terry Taylor.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Box Cemetery, c/o Armstrong Bank, P.O. Box 435, Vian, OK 74962.
