Mrs. Calhoun was born on Oct. 12, 1964, in Poteau to Abe Kinsey and Billie (Ladd) Kinsey. She died on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2025, in Tulsa.
She enjoyed music, cooking and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her children, Chadasty Brook and Danny O’Neal of Sallisaw, Susan Ashley and William Beller of Gans and Jay Warren Calhoun II of Tulsa; siblings, Frances Sisco of Port Richey, Fla., Carolyn and Steve Schreibvogel of Skiatook, Michael Kinsey of Hominy, Cynthia and Walter Waldridge of Blocker, Larry Kinsey of Wynona, Charles and Karen Kinsey of Pawhuska and Loyd and Kaylyn Kinsey of Wynona; 10 grandchildren; and other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Billy Joe, James “Jimmy” and Allen Kinsey.
Memorial services for Sonya Gail (Kinsey) Calhoun, 60, of Sallisaw, were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2025, at Cornerstone Free Will Baptist Church in Roland.
Cremation is under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home.
