Funeral services for Brenda Rose Lasiter, 73, of Sallisaw were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2025, at Immanuel Baptist Church in Sallisaw. Burial followed at Upper Camp Creek Cemetery in Muldrow.
Mrs. Lasiter was born on Oct. 16, 1951, in Sallisaw to Betty Rose (Benge) Haddox and Noble Edward Haddox. She passed away on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2025.
She married James Henry Lasiter on Jan. 18, 1969. He preceded her in death on April 13, 2011.
She was employed as a nursing instructor at Connors State College and formerly at University of Arkansas Fort Smith. She enjoyed her garden and reading.
Survivors include a daughter, Lora Coulter and husband Craig of Fort Smith, Ark.; son, Nathan Lasiter and wife Sarah of Edmond; eight grandchildren; her mother, of Sallisaw; three sisters, Janet Irby and husband David of Texas, Joni Eads and husband David of Sallisaw, and Andrea Harris and husband Andrew of Sallisaw; three brothers, John Haddox and wife Nancy of Sallisaw, Leonard Haddox and wife Elaine of Colorado, and Glen Haddox and wife Faith of England; along with many other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her father; son, Eric Lasiter; and sister, Judi Vaughn.
Pallbearers were John Haddox, Samuel Coulter, Paul Lasiter, Alex Lasiter, Nicolas Lasiter and Aidan Lasiter.
