Graveside services for Jerell Sandra Fine Fargo, 88, of Watts, and formerly of Sallisaw, were held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at Akins Cemetery in Sallisaw, under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
Mrs. Fargo was born on Jan. 18, 1937, in Akins to Noel Fine and Luba (Lessley) Fine. She passed away on Monday, March 10, 2025, in Siloam Springs, Ark.
She attended Northeastern State University receiving a BS, MS, Psychometry and counseling certification. She was in school education for 31 years and five years at Sequoyah Indian School in Tahlequah. She was of the Baptist faith.
She married Bobby J. Fargo on Sept. 4, 1983, in Sallisaw. He preceded her in death on Nov. 12, 2012.
Survivors include a son, Dwain Asbill and Kimberly of Watts; four grandchildren; eight greatgrandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Rosalee Cassady and Jonna Rider; niece, Stacy Oliver; and nephew, Mark Cassady.
Pallbearers were Taylor Asbill, Josh Teague, Christian Hong, Tim Weber, Cody Tye and Jarrod Cassady.
