Webbers Falls Lady Warriors go 1-3 last week

The Webbers Falls Lady Warriors slowpitch softball team went 1-3 last week as they enter Spring Break this week.

The Lady Warriors were beaten twice at Eual Carter Sports Complex on March 10, losing 3-2 to Weleetka and 22-2 in three innings to Crowder before losing 14-1 in five innings to Hulbert at home March 11.

The Lady Warriors ended their three-game losing streak to begin last week by entering Spring Break Week on a high note with a 12-8 road win Friday over Gans.

In the win over Gans, the Lady Warriors (2-4) broke a 7-all tie with a single run in the sixth inning and a four-run seventh inning for a 12-7 lead.

For the game, Bridgette Baer was 4-for-4 with a double, a triple, three runs scored and two runs batted in, Gracie Sturgell was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI, Karla Bonilla was 3-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored, Bailey Ward was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI and Kendra Kimble doubled with four RBIs and a run scored for Webbers Falls.

Bentley Ward (2-1) got the win, recording three strikeouts in seven innings.

In the loss to Weleetka, the Lady Outlaws rallied from a 2-1 thirdinning deficit with single runs in the fourth and fifth innings to get the come-from-behind win.

In defeat, Baer was 2-for-2, while Karla Bonilla hit a two-run double in the third inning to put Webbers Falls ahead 2-1. Mary Davis (0-2) took the loss.

In the loss to Crowder, the Demonettes scored 11 runs in the first inning and never looked back.

In defeat, Bonilla doubled with a run batted in and a run scored, Baer singled and scored once and Bentley Ward and Bailey Ward each singled for Webbers Falls.

Davis took the loss, lasting only the opening inning. Bentley Ward went the final two innings with a strikeout.

In the loss to Hulbert, the Lady Riders scored three runs in the first inning for a 3-0 lead, which became a 10-0 lead in the fourth inning.

In defeat, Kimble doubled, while Baer, Shkyra Scruggs and Rhilee Davis all singled for the Lady Warriors (1-4).

Mary Davis (0-3) suffered the loss, getting a strikeout in five innings.

The Lady Warriors will not return to action until 4:30 p.m. Monday when they entertain the Keota Lions at Eual Carter Sports Complex.
