Former Vian Lady Wolverine, EOSC Lady Mountaineers coming off 6-0 pre-Spring Break Week

Former Vian Lady Wolverines softball player Maisie Wells and the Eastern Oklahoma State College Lady Mountaineers enjoyed a perfect 6-0 week in their final week of action before last week’s Spring Break Week.

On March 11 in Wilburton, the Lady Mountaineers swept a home doubleheader sweep from Connors State College by scores of 6-2 and 7-3.

On March 13 in Tonkawa, the Lady Mountaineers got a road twinbill sweep of Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa by scores of 17-2 and 11-8 before sweeping a home DH from Northeastern Oklahoma A&M by scores of 4-1 and 5-2 on March 15.

In the opener against Connors State, Wells was 2-for-4 with a run scored, while hitting a single in three at-bats with a run scored and a stolen base in the nightcap.

In the opener against NOC-Tonkawa, Wells went 3-for-4 with two runs scored, while going 3-for-5 with her third home run of the season, five runs batted in and two runs scored in the nightcap.

In the opener against NEO, Wells went 1-for-3, while going hitless in four at-bats in the nightcap.

Through 28 games, Wells is batting .407 with three doubles, three triples, three homers, 12 RBIs, 25 runs scored and six stolen bases.

Wells and the Lady Mountaineers (16-12) will be idle until a 2 p.m. Thursday road doubleheader against NOC-Enid, followed by a 2 p.m. Saturday road doubleheader at Rose State College and a 1 p.m. Tuesday home doubleheader against archrival Carl Albert State College in Wilburton.
