Incidental Blessings

Psalms 145:15-17 “The eyes of all wait upon thee; and thou givest them their meat in due season. Thou openest thine hand, and satisfiest the desire of every living thing. The LORD is righteous in all his ways, and holy in all his works.”

Pastor God created man and animal

Michael Martin alike. He blessed the animals He created and instructed them to multi Vian ply- Genesis 1:22 “And God blessed Baptist them, saying, Be fruitful, and mul . tiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.” The animals have done as instructed. They have filled the waters and the air. They have grown on the earth. Each creature God created, He made sure that they were fed. The animals did not “develop” a feeding habit. Some always ate grass, some always ate fruit, and some ate bugs and insects. Science has recorded the feeding habits of an enormous range of animals, fish, fowl, and insects. But God is the one to provide for them. Before their were scientists, God made sure they had their daily requirements for food. “Thou openest thine hand, and satisfieth the desire of every living thing” our scripture tells us.

Man also was created. Genesis 1:27-28 “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.”

God continues to provide today and I notice something odd, as I think about it. God takes care of those who do not believe in Him, those that for some reason hate Him as well as those who love Him.

Another odd thought…animals still obey the laws of God. A dog is always a dog. A cat is always a cat, etc. Only man has a free will to chose what is life will be like. Those that reject God’s plan for mankind are still fed by God’s bounty, yet in my mind’s eye, they do not deserve it. They receive an Incidental Blessing. As God blesses His saints with food, shelter, and water, the entire world benefits from it. See what Jesus said in Matthew.

Matthew 5:45 “That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.”

The sun comes up each day and the good and the evil benefit from it. The rains come on the just and the unjust. Both benefit from it. In order for God to care for those that love Him, he gives the unjust success in farming. It has been my observation, though, that the farmer knows the love of God and give Him credit for good harvests.

Man is an interesting creation. God allows him a free will to choose what his life will be. More often than not, he chooses to reject God and believe in junk science. Folks, a Theory is just some man’s imagination working over time. Theories are not proven facts. Good science, true science is provable by observation or it is able to be duplicated. Junk science is spoken of in I Timothy by Paul as he instructs Timothy in his work. ITimothy 6:20 “O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:” Science falsely so called.. .hummm. Even back in the 1st & 2nd century there were people with wild ideas about what was true and what their imagination told them was true. Paul referred to them as “vain babblings”. Why? Because God’s Word tells a quite different story about Creation than does the imagination of Darwin. Darwin references millions and millions and millions of years, while God created man in a single day, fully functional, with the abilities of any adult to eat, drink and speak. Darwin is trying to eliminate a need to have a creator by telling you that you evolved from some pool of slime. Sorry, but God’s Word is true and Darwin is probably well aware of that in his present place.

After death, man’s soul goes to its reward, or so the Bible tells us. There are only two destinations… heaven and hell. It is totally man’s decision on which he chooses. God does not want puppets on a string. He wants men and women to love Him because He first loved them. I John 4:19 “We love Him, because he first loved us.” So to conclude this thought about Incidental Blessings, let me remind you once more of what Jesus said in Matthew. Matthew 5:45 “That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.”

If you do not know or acknowledge Jesus as Savior, then enjoy the sun and rain. It really isn’t for you.
