Green Country Tourism and Travel OKLAHOMA are proud to announce the 17th annual Red Fern Festival going on in Tahlequah, April 25 and 26.
Did you know that the 1974 film Where the Red Fern Grows was filmed in Tahlequah and Vian? Based on the popular children’s book by Oklahoman author Wilson Rawls, the film also features shots of the waterfall at Natural Falls State Park near the Oklahoma/Arkansas border.
Mark your calendar and make your way to Tahlequah later this month to celebrate both this classic coming-of-age tale and the area’s natural beauty at the 17th annual Red Fern Festival. Just head to town April 25-26 to enjoy a wide variety of familyfriendly activities and entertainment, including live music, food trucks, children’s games, a petting zoo, hound dog field trials, and much more.
