Former Vian softball player Greenlee Wells and the Oklahoma Baptist University Bison went 3-1 last week, which started with a pair of road wins over Northwestern Oklahoma State University by scores of 4-3 and 5-4 on April 7 in Alva to get the series sweep of the Lady Rangers.
This past weekend in Searcy, Ark., the Bison took two of three games from No. 10 Harding, winning both games of Friday’s doubleheader by scores of 2-0 and 6-4 but losing the series finale 4-0 on Saturday.
In the Game 1 win over NWOSU, Wells was hitless in four at-bats, while going 2-for-3 in the nightcap with her 13th double, her 12th home run and two runs scored.
In Friday’s opener against Harding, Wells
was hitless in three at-bats, while hitting her 13th homer in the nightcap.
In Saturday’s loss to Harding, Wells was hitless in three at-bats.
Through 42 games, Wells is batting .349 with 12 doubles, a triple, 13 homers, 42 RBIs and seven stolen bases.
After Wells and the Lady Bison (27-15 overall, 20-6 in Great American Conference play) played a home doubleheader against Northeastern Oklahoma State University on Tuesday in Shawnee, they will welcome Wells’ former Vian teammate Kacie Gibbins and the Arkansas Tech University Golden Suns for a threegame GAC series in Shawnee with Game 1 at 6 p.m. Thursday and a noon twinbill on Friday before playing a single game at 4 p.m. Tuesday against Southern Nazarene in Bethany.
