By David Seeley Sports Editor

The Gore Lady Pirates finished third in the Riverside Conference Slow-Pitch Softball Tournament, which took place Friday in Stigler.

The Lady Pirates opened the tournament by losing 5-4 to Webbers Falls but bounced back with a 14-2 three-inning rout of Gans, a 14-6 five-inning victory over Okay and an 11-1 fourinning rout of McCurtain to reach the loser’sbracket finals — where they lost 7-5 to Keota.

Last week began with a 16-6 home rout of Gans on April 8.

In the tournament loser’s-bracket final, the Lady Lions broke a 3-all tie with a run in the fourth inning and two runs in the fifth to take the lead for good at 6-3.

In defeat, Hallie Brewer was 3-for-4, Emily Daily was 2-for-4 with a double, a run batted in and a run scored, River Shoemake was 2-for-4 with an RBI, Peyton Curran was 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored and Mylee Bruce doubled with an RBI for the Lady Pirates (9-10). Bruce (910) suffered the loss.

In the win over Mc-Curtain, the Lady Pirates broke a 1-all tie with a run in the second inning, four runs in the third inning and five runs in the fourth inning to put the game into run-rule status.

For the contest, Brewer was 2-for-3 with two runs scored, Shoemake was 2-for-3 with three RBIs and two runs scored, Bruce was 2-for-3 with an RBI, Keira Rowe was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Daily doubled and scored twice for Gore. Bruce got the win.

In the victory over Okay, the Lady Pirates scored nine runs in the third inning to not only break a 3-all tie but put the game into run-rule status.

For the contest, Brewer was 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored, Ricki Huckbay was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored, Sophie O’Connor was 2-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI, Kennedy Williams was 2-for-3 with her second home run of the season, two RBIs and two runs scored, Rowe was 2-for-3 with an RBI and Shoemake tripled with three RBIs for Gore.

Bruce got the win as she recorded two strikeouts.

In the tournament win over Gans, after falling behind 1-0 in the first inning, a four-run first inning and a 10-run second inning gave the Lady Pirates a 14-1 lead after two innings to put the game into run-rule status.

For the contest, Bruce doubled with three RBIs and a run scored, while Curran doubled with an RBI and a run scored for Gore. Bruce got the win.

In the loss to Webbers Falls, the Lady Warriors scored twice in the seventh inning to snatch away the win from the jaws of defeat.

In defeat, Bruce was 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI, Williams was 2-for-3 with a run scored and Curran doubled with an RBI for Gore.

Bruce got the win as she got two strikeouts.

In the non-tournament victory over Gans, the Lady Pirates put away the game early with a 10-run first inning. A run in the fourth inning put the game into runrule status.

For the contest, O’Connor was 3-for-3 with two home runs, her first two homers of the season, five RBIs and three runs scored, Williams was 2-for-3 with a triple, two RBIs and two runs scored, Maddison Douglass was 2-for-3 with a run scored and Brewer doubled with two RBIs and a run scored for Gore.
