It was a rough start to the 2026 slow-pitch softball season for the Gore Lady Pirates as they lost 16-1 in three innings to the Porum Lady Panthers on March 3 in Gore.
After the Lady Pirates (0-1) took a 1-0 lead in the first inning, the Lady Panthers erupted for 16 runs in the second inning to put the game into run-rule status.
In defeat, Alevia Reasnor went 2-for-2, while Emily Daily, Sophie O’Connor and Mylee Bruce each singled for Gore’s five hits.
Bruce (0-1) took the loss, going the first 1.1 innings, then Camdyn Dotson went the rest of the way.
Monday’s game was rained out.
Editor’s Note: Gore’s baseball season opener at home last Tuesday against Moss was rained out.
