By David Seeley Sports Editor

The Gore Lady Pirates saw their 2026 slow-pitch softball season come to a conclusion last Wednesday at the Class 3A District Tournament in Tushka.

After beating the co-op Clayton/Moyers team 12-0 in three innings, the Lady Pirates suffered consecutive losses to the host Lady Tigers, losing 10-2 in six innings and 11-1 in four innings.

The Lady Pirates ended the season with an 8-4 road win over Hulbert on April 20.

In the win over Hulbert, the Lady Pirates (12-13) rallied from a 4-0 second-inning deficit with a run in the third inning, a four-run sixth inning and a threerun seventh inning to get the come-from-behind victory.

For the game, Alevia Reasnor was 2-for-3 with a triple, two runs batted in and a run scored, while Maddison Douglass was 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBIs and a run scored for Gore. Camdyn Dotson (11-8) got the win.

In the district-tournament victory over Clayton/Moyers, Dotson tossed a one-hitter.

The Lady Pirates had a pair of five-run innings in the first two frames for a 10-0 lead. A two-run third inning put the game into runrule status.

For the contest, Emily Daily was 2-for-2 with a double and three runs scored, Reasnor was 2-for-3 with a run scored and a run batted in, Douglass was 2-for-2 with a double, three RBIs and two runs scored, Jemma Peevy was 2-for-2 with three RBIs and Kennedy Williams tripled with two RBIs and two runs scored for Gore.

In the first districttournament loss to Tushka, after the Lady Pirates cut their deficit to 3-1 after four innings, the Lady Tigers scored four runs in the fifth inning for a 7-1 lead. A three-run sixth inning put the game into runrule status.

In defeat, Williams was 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI and a run scored, while Douglass was 2-foe-3 with a double and an RBI for Gore. Dotson suffered the loss.

In the season-ending loss to Tushka, the Lady Tigers scored eight runs in the first inning and never trailed. After the Lady Pirates scored their lone run in the first inning, the Lady Tigers scored twice in the second inning and once in the third inning to put the game into run-rule status.

In defeat, Williams doubled with an RBI for Gore. Dotson took the loss.
