Memorial services for Douglas Randall “Dougie” Thomason, 66, of Vian, were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at the Old McKey Schoolhouse.
Cremation was under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home.
Mr. Thomason was born on March 9, 1958, in Oakland, Calif., to Douglas L. Thomason and Eunice Pina (Schoonover) Thomason. He died on Friday, May 31, 2024, in Sallisaw.
He was a 1979 graduate of Sallisaw High School. He worked training and taking care of horses and later as a carpenter building homes and log cabins. In his later years worked on pipelines. His hobbies included rebuilding old cars, horses and dogs. He was a member of McKey First Baptist Church.
Survivors include six sisters, Mary Thomason and Karen Mathis both of Vian, Donna Shrum of Fort Garland, Colo., Edia and Tom Herrian of Tishomingo, and Emma Leeper and Jackie Pop both of Sallisaw; and other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Billy Thomason and Randolph Thomason; and one sister, Pina Thomason.
