The Gore Board of Trustees has issued a public statement addressing a recent personnel matter involving Vice Mayor Larry Pack and former Town Clerk Lisa Settlemyre.
According to the release dated April 7, town officials held a meeting with Pack on April 2 after receiving information — including an audio recording — indicating an intimate relationship between the vice mayor and Settlemyre.
During that meeting, the town attorney advised that, due to the nature of the situation and the potential for workplace conflicts, both individuals could not remain in their respective positions.
The statement said Pack declined to resign and instead suggested that Settlemyre step down from her role.
Settlemyre did not attend the April 2 meeting and later submitted her resignation, effective immediately.
Town officials emphasized they will not comment further on the private matters of either individual but reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining “a professional, safe, and respectful work en- vironment” for employees, as well as ensuring stability in municipal operations.
The Town of Gore also reiterated its dedication to transparency and serving the best interests of the community.
