Funeral services for Alene (Gardenhire) Real, 88, of McKey were at 3 p.m. on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw. Burial was at Drakestand Cemetery in Sallisaw under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
She was born on Feb. 28, 1936, in Rocky Point, to Cokie (Barns) Gardenhire and Clarrence Gardenhire and passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2024, in Fort Smith, Ark.
Mrs. Real married to Silas “Si” Real on June 25, 1953, in Stilwell. He preceded her in death on April 4, 2012.
She was a homemaker. Survivors are three sons, Michael Real and Cynda of McKey, Gordon Real of McKey and Jeff Real and Brenda Batey of the Nicut community; two daughters, Lori Hopkins and Jack of Fort Smith and Valerie Plummer and Frank of Alma, Ark.; 14 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by two sons, Roger and Patrick Real; daughter-in-law, Deborah Real; her parents; and two sisters, Leona Scott and Reba Oliver.
Pallbearers were David Real, Matthew Real, Joshua Real, Nathan Plummer, Logan Cain, Zachary Cain and Jacob Fargo.
