The End for the Devil

The End for the Devil
By Pastor Michael Martin

Revelation 20:7-10 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came Thurrh down from God out of heaven, and devoured them. And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

The Bible begins with the creation of the earth, then light, then the firmament, then the sun and moon, then the flora, then the fauna and to complete it all He created man. He wasn’t quite finished since man had no mate. He created Eve from Adams rib so that he could have a helper initially. We know the story. The serpent came, lied to Eve and she was beguiled into eating the fruit from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. That was a bad day for humanity for Adam did not want to be separated from Eve so he ate the fruit also. Eve was beguiled; Adam sinned. Eve only had Adams word for what God had tol Adam. The serpent lied, she believed the lie, but Adam knew better. He chse to die wih his wife.

If it hadn’t been for introducing sin into the world, that would have been a beautful love story, right? But what began was a struggle of good and evil. Wickedness came into the world. Romans 5:12 “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:” The struggle falls in three broad categories. 1 John 2:16 “For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.” All sin falls into one of these three categories. Always has and always will. Eve was beguiled into all three of them. Genesis 3:6 “And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.’

The lust of the flesh – good for food. The lust of the eye – pleasant to the eye. Pride of life – Desired to mke one wise. She got the whole package, yet we on earth today do not neeed to hit the Trifecta of sins. Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Notice that sin is singular. It does not take a multitude of sins to be prononced a sinner. And no one is immune. Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” Just as Adam and Eve fell for the lies of the serpent, so all mankind has fallen for the same things.

The devil would have you believe there is no God. He wants you to believe there is no punishment for sin. He wants you to believe there is no Hell. He wants you to believe that even if there was a God, He is a loving God and would not condemn anyone to hell. What started in Eden is still going on today. See the devil know if he could get man to understand good and evil, he could use that to his advantage. Even the Bible tells us a truth about sin.

Hebrews 11:25 “Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;” (underline mine) Sin is pleasureable for a season…alcohol, drugs, fornication, adultery, profanity, witchcraft, etc. are all pleasureable at the beginning. The toll they take first on the body, then on the soul s a terrible “wage” to pay. Sinners go to a place of punishment for the wages of their sin.

Now the good part is that you do not have to go to this place of puishment. If you plaice your faith in Jesus Christ, then the Scriptures tells us.. .Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”

Here is God’s warning…John 3:18 “He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”

Believe, Confess, Receive and be saved. Romans 10:9-10 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

Romans 10:13 “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Now Satan’s end is sure for God Almighty cannot lie. And I know this article is true, for you see, I read the end of the story. “And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.”

Don’t go with him.
