Graveside service for Edward Miller, 78, of Gore, was held at 11 a.m. on Sat., March 8, 2025, at Oakdale Cemetery in Paden, under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
Mr. Miller was born on April 21, 1946, in Paden, to Mont and Sevella Miller. He passed away on Tues., March 4, 2025, in Muskogee.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, where he completed three tours as a door gunner on an attack helicopter, and survived four helicopter crashes. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, lawn care, and reading.
Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Betty Lou (Perry) Miller; son, Scott; daughter, Colleen Thayer; grandchildren; brothers, Monte Miller, Bobby Joe and wife Donna Miller, and Leonard and wife Darla Miller; sister, Elaine and husband Larry Spears; and many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Porter “Bo,” Paul Wayne, and Phillip Dale Miller; sisters, Freda and husband Tom McCone and Jane and husband Chet Shelton.
Honorary pallbearers were Danny Walker, Dan “Boone” Carter, Donald Dixon, Gordan Queen, Jamison Schrader and Dustin Ross.
