The Gore Board of Trustees handled a full agenda on Jan. 20, approving a pay raise for a town employee, adopting several policy changes and giving the green light to a proposed RV park development.
The board began the meeting by approving meeting minutes from December, along with financial reports and purchase orders.
Trustees also unanimously adopted Resolution 01-202026-1, though specific details of the resolution were not outlined in the minutes.
In additional action, the board approved amendments to the town’s Compensatory Time Policy and the Employee Personnel Policy.
Trustees also voted unanimously to approve the proposed Cedars Edge RV Park project. The development had been on the agenda for consideration and received full support from the board.
Gore Police Chief Randy Taylor provided monthly activity statistics, reporting 39 calls for service, 72 traffic stops, 49 warnings, 30 citations, six arrests, six assists to other agencies, and 33 written reports.
The Gore Fire Department also presented an extensive report for the month. Firefighters responded to 33 calls, including 19 medical calls, four brush or grass fires, three structure fires, two motor vehicle accidents and one swift water rescue.
The chief also gave a summary of 2025 totals to date, noting the department has responded to 354 calls this year, averaging nearly one call per day.
“I am very proud of our department,” the report stated.
Following adjournment of the town meeting, trustees moved into the public works authority agenda.
The board approved routine business items including the minutes from the Dec. 16 regular meeting and the Dec. 22 special meeting, along with the December financial report and purchase orders.
The board then entered executive session to discuss a personnel matter involving town employee Jacom Lane. After returning to open session, trustees voted unanimously to approve a $1 per hour raise for Lane, increasing his pay from $14.49 to $15.49 per hour.
Public Works Administrator Jeremy Lane provided a brief report, stating the town is currently experiencing a 16 percent water loss.
He said the department completed 20 work orders and 14 utility locates during the month, and repaired two water leaks. Lane added that installation of new water meters is nearly complete.
With no further business, the meeting adjourned at 6:27 p.m.
