WILBURTON — Former Vian Lady Wolverines player Maisie Wells and the Eastern Oklahoma State College Lady Mountaineers went 4-2 last week over three sets of home doubleheaders.
The week began with a home sweep over National Park College by scores of 9-1 in six innings and 9-3, then the Lady Mountaineers took two from former Muldrow Lady Bulldog Danica Tune and the Northeastern Oklahoma A&M Lady Norse by scores of 11-0 in six innings and 8-2 last Thursday.
The week ended on a down note as the Lady Mountaineers were swept by the Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa Lady Mavericks by scores of 6-4 and 8-4 last Saturday at Frontier High School in Red Rock, located just north of Perry in Noble County.
In the opener against National Park College, Wells was 4-for-4 with two runs scored and a run batted in, while she went 2-for-4 her third home run of the season, three RBIs and two runs scored in the nightcap.
In Game 1 against NEO, Wells was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored, while hitting a single with two RBIs in Game 2.
In the opener against NOC-Tonkawa, Wells singled and scored once, while going hitless in two at-bats in the nightcap.
The Lady Mountaineers (29-11) will play a home doubleheader against Rose State College at 2 this afternoon before entertaining Northern Oklahoma College-Enid for a 2 p.m. twinbill on Saturday and traveling to meet Fort Scott (Kan.) Community College at 2 p.m. Monday.
