Vian track teams compete in first meet of season at Checotah
By DAVID SEELEY SPORTS EDITOR CHECOTAH ? The Vian High School track,

teams competed in their first meet of the 2026 season last Thursday at the Checotah Crossroads Classic at Ogle Field.

For the Wolverines, Ledger Folsom was third in the 100-meter dash (11.4 seconds) and was fourth in the 200-meter dash (23.28), while Dee Antwine was fourth in the 400-meter dash (53.14).

As for other Wolverines, Antwine was 19th (24.77 seconds) and Kalvin Andrade was 44th (26.57) in the 200-meter dash, Isaiah Owens was 22nd (12.62) and Carter Madsen was 22nd (12.62) in the 100-meter dash and Amos Wright was 33rd in the 400-meter dash (1:02).

Folsom, Owens, Madsen and Dee Antwine were fifth in the 400-meter relay (45.51 seconds).

As a team, the Wolverines tied Hilldale for 11th place with 18 points.

For the Lady Wolverines, Gracie Buttery had the highest finish as she was third in the high jump (4-8), while finishing ninth in the 400-meter dash (1:08.61) to give Vian its six points which tied the Lady Wolverines with Catoosa.

As for other Lady Wolverines, Sidney Cox was 11th (14.5 seconds), Jenweh Dikar was 24th (15.23), Cassidee Postoak was 25th (15.33), Bostyn Rodgers was 27th (15.54), Eva Lee was 41st (16.54) and Brooke Cox was 48th (17.3) in the 100-meter dash, Gentri Lageveen and Aubrey Gant tied for 11th in the high jump (4-2), Tina Rautenberg was 12th in the 300-meter hurdles (57.55), Sidney Cox was 25th (30.55), Olivia Lovell was 33rd (31.6) and Dikar was 41st (32.46) in the 200-meter dash and Gant was 27th in the 400-meter dash (1:15.99).

As for Lady Wolverines’ relays, Sidney Cox, Lovell, Rautenberg and Buttery were 11th in the 800-meter relay (1:59.02).

The Vian track teams were slated to return to action in Tuesday’s Warner Invitational before running at the Hilldale Invitational, which will begin at 10 am. this Fri-Gracie day in Muskogee.
