Betty Wynell Sanders

April 2, 1929 — April 19, 2026

Funeral services for Betty Wynell Sanders, 97, of Tulsa, were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home.

Burial followed at Buffington Cemetery in Sallisaw under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Services, Inc.

Mrs. Sanders was born on April 2, 1929, in Bronte, Texas, to Blaine Ott and Nina Adele Brown Ott. She passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at her home.

She served as a credit manager at Montgomery Ward Department Store, worked as an accountant, ran a successful property flipping business, operated a mobile home transport service, owned an answering service, and built a tax service that she ran for decades. She had a wonderful sense of humor.

She married John Franklin Sanders in 1967, and he preceded her in death in 2016.

Survivors include her children, Ronnie Gerhart of Madill, Sandy Morgan of Tulsa, Patti Yohe and husband Joey of Canadian and Al Gerhart and wife Flordeliza of Oklahoma City; step-children, Dwayne Sanders and Cathy Chabot, both of Roland; daughter-in-law, Lisa Bailey of Fort Smith; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Albert G. Gerhart; daughter, Barbara Nell; sister, Ila Jean Ott; brother, Louis Ott; daughters-in-law, Jana Gerhart and Susan Baker; niece, Wendy Moody; grandson, Cody Gerhart; and great-granddaughter, Zoe Fugate.
