“Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, For this is man’s all. For God will bring every work into judgment, Including every secret thing, Whether good or evil” (Eccl 12:13-14). “In the fear of the Lord there is strong confidence, And His children will have a place of refuge. The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, To turn one away from the snares of death” (Eccl 12:13 14). “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding” (Prov 9:10).
Conclusion
The Bible teaches us how to live this life. It does not matter how much knowledge we gain, political status, wealth accumulated, buildings built, classes taught, church membership growth, unless we fear God, we fail in life and in our service to Him. Solomon had it all, yet was not satisfied in life. He eventually turned his heart away from God the Creator to the idols of his foreign wives.
He tells us that “the conclusion of the whole matter, fear God and keep His commandments.” This, applies to the Church and individual Believers. After all he had accumulated, the bottom line was to “fear God… keep His Word.”
Today there is few who truly “fear God” and unless you fear God, you are not likely to keep His Word. To “fear God” is to have a loving reverence for Him, for who He is, what He does and all He says. Christians we need to experience the “fear of God” and get on with His will in our lives. There is no joy or peace outside the commitment and worship of God. Life is Christ!!!
This message is definitely for us today! Judgment is coming and death is certain for all unless the Rapture comes first! The fear of God brings wisdom which is the foundation for receiving spiritual knowledge. When we receive knowledge. we gain spiritual understanding that leads to the building of spiritual character… becoming more like Jesus Christ. This will lead to obedience to His Will and Word. This ushers in the joy and peace and power inourdailylife. Thisis“theconclusionofthe whole matter.” To live here and see death but never experience this is a great loss. Are you living the life of victory as a Christian?
Christian are you a “happy camper” here on Earth? Are you experiencing the joy of knowing Christ and have a peace that passes all understanding? Have you grown in Him since your salvation day? Are you obedient to His will? Will Christ say to you “well done”?
If you are not a happy Christian, it is because you do not seek Godly knowledge and His understanding through His Word and prayer. You are not growing in Him and this can’t lead you to be obedient which leads to joy and peace.
“And to man He said, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, And to depart from evil is understanding.’” (Job 28:28-29:1).
You can begin with prayer and study of His Word gaining knowledge and this leads to understanding on to spiritual growth and then obedience to God, and result… you are joyful and have the peace. Heaven then is eternally yours! So be wise and look to God! When the judgment day comes you can truly be excited that you chose Christ, and now you can enjoy Heaven forever.
Unbeliever
You cannot have wisdom outside of Christ. All that you accomplish will perish and you will also perish. This does not have to be! You can accept Christ as Savior and begin your “wisdom walk” today. You ask God for the forgiveness of the sin of rejecting His Son. For this is the root of all your sins. Wisdom chooses Christ! You place your trust in Him and life begins! “The more you learn of Him the greater love and reverence you will have for Him…this is the “fear of God.”
“Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, For this is man’s all.” Amen!
Fear God, Ask Him for wisdom! James 1:5-8
