Gore freshman wins two titles at Coweta Tiger Classic

COWETA — Gore Lady Pirates freshman shot put and discus thrower Alevia Reasnor won both events in the freshman division at last Friday’s Coweta Tiger Classic.

Reasnor won the shot put with a throw of 30-10, while her throw of 101-5 claimed the top spot in the discus to score the Lady Pirates’ freshmen point total of 20 points, which placed the team ninth in the team standings.

Reasnor’s freshman teammate Kylie “K.J.” McEver was seventh in the discus (70-9) and tied for ninth in the shot put (24-3).

The Pirates finished 14th in team standings with 12 points, with their hurdling trio providing their points.

Devon Mannon was fourth (41.72 seconds), Trenton Cunningham was seventh (43.8) and Weston Cunningham tied for 10th (44.31) in the 300-meter hurdles.

In the 110-meter hurdles for the Pirates, Weston Cunningham was fifth (16.43 seconds), Mannon was seventh (16.96) and Trenton Cunningham was 16th (18.36).

Zac Comer got the final six points as he was third in the discus (143-3).

As for other Pirates individually, Comer was 16th in the shot put (40-1), Nick Eklund was 19th (24.77 seconds) and Cole Brooksher was 29th (25.68) in the 200-meter dash, Mannon was 20th 12.01 seconds) and Brooksher was 32nd (12.44) in the 100-meter dash, Luke Wisdom was 30th (2:25.44) and Jaxton McGowin was 38th (2:52) in the 800-meter run, Benson Hunt was 31st (5:53.02) and Brayden Ellis was 34th (6:17.03) in the 1,600-meter run and Clayton White was 32nd (1:02.02) and McGowin was 34th (1:04.3) in the 400-meter dash.

In the freshmen boys’ division, Gore’s Treydan Daugherty was 20th (34-8) and Jaydan Gates was 22nd (32-8) in the shot put, while Daugherty was 22nd in the discus (89-9).

While the Lady Pirates did not score any points in the high school girls’ division, they still had several athletes compete.

Amelia White was 14th (2:46.19) and Rayleigh Moore was 22nd (2:55.92) in the 800-meter run, Mylee Bruce was 18th in the 100-meter hurdles (21.6 seconds) and 19th in the 300-meter hurdles (1:01.72), White was 19th (1:08.8) and Gracie Bruce was 26th (1:19.29) in the 400-meter dash, White was 23rd (30.69) and Moore was 32nd (32.98) in the 200-meter dash, Sophie O’Connor was 31st (15.24), Mylee Bruce was 33rd (15.42) and Gracie Bruce was 38th (16.04) in the 100-meter dash.
