It was a busy twoday period for the Vian High School track teams as they competed at the Porter Consolidated Pirates Invitational last Wednesday, after it was postponed by weather the week prior, then turned around and went to the Inola Invitational last Thursday.
At the Porter meet, the Wolverines were fifth with 42 points in the team standings.
Individually for the Wolverines, Dee Antwine won the 400-meter dash (51.33 seconds, a personal best), while Ledger Folsom was runner- up in the 200-meter dash (22.7 a personal best) and was third in the 100-meter dash (11.2).
The Wolverines’ 400-meter relay team of Folsom, Carter Madsen, Isaiah Owens and Dee Antwine were second (44.69 seconds, a personal best). As for other Individual Wolverines, Madsen was 10th (11.9 seconds) and Owens was 20th (12.5) in the 100-meter dash, Trey Antwine was 16th in the 200-meter dash (24.6, a personal best) and Dradyn Harrison was 24th in the 800-meter run (2:38.45).
As for other Wolverines’ relays, Owens, Amos Wright, Kalvin Andrade and Trey Antwine were sixth in the 800-meter relay (1:43.3).
The Lady Wolverines were ninth, also with 20 points.
The Lady Wolverines two medalists in three events as Gracie Buttery was second in the high jump (4-8) and third in the long jump (14-9.5, a personal best), while Tina Rautenberg was third in the 300-meter hurdles (54.17 seconds, a personal best).
As for other Lady Wolverines individually, Aubrey Gant was fourth in the high jump (4-4), 12th in the 800-meter run (3:01) and 23rd in the 400-meter dash (1:20.1). Olivia Lovell was 13th (14.5 seconds), Cassidee Postoak was 27th (15.1) and Eva Lee was 36th (16.2) in the 100-meter dash, Sidney Cox was 13th (29.1, a personal best) and Jenweh Dikar was 26th (30.6) in the 200-meter dash, Carmen Rautenberg was 15th in the 800-meter run (3:07.18) and Lillian Fahrmann had a personal-best throw of 21-8.5 in the shot put.
As for Lady Wolverines’ relay teams, Sidney Cox, Lovell, Tina Rautenberg and Buttery were fifth in the 800-meter relay (1:55.2), while Postoak, Bostyn Rodgers, Brooke Cox and Dikar were sixth in the 400-meter relay (57.7 seconds).
At the Inola meet, Folsom won the 100-meter dash (10.96 seconds) and was runner-up in the 200-meter dash (22.82).
As for other Wolverines individually, Dee Antwine was fifth in the 400-meter dash (54.01 seconds) and Madsen was 10th (11.56) and Owens was 38th (12.07) in the 100-meter dash.
As for Wolverines’ relay teams, Folsom, Madsen, Owens and Dee Antwine were third in the 400-meter relay (46.06 seconds), while Owens, Wright, Andrade and Trey Antwine were 11th in the 800-meter relay (1:43.45).
The Wolverines were seventh with 32 points.
The Lady Wolverines scored 2.5 points to finish 17th in the team standings, thanks to Gant and Buttery tying for fourth place in the high jump (4-6).
As for other Lady Wolverines’ individuals, Tina Rautenberg was 11th in the 300-meter hurdles (56.21 seconds), Dikar was 15th in the high jump (4-4) and was 24th in the 300-meter hurdles (31.03), Buttery was 18th (13-0), Brooke Cox was 32nd (10-11) and Kylie Covie was 33rd (10-7) in the long jump, Gant was 20th in the 400-meter dash (1:11.86), Gant was 25th (3:04.39) and Carmen Rautenberg was 27th (3:05.83) in the 800-meter run and Lovell was 30th (14.34), Postoak was 38th (15.09) and Lee was 46th (15.71) in the 100-meter dash.
As for Lady Wolverines’ relays, Sidney Cox, Lovell, Tina Rautenberg and Gant were seventh in the 800-meter relay (2:00.53), while Postoak, Rodgers, Brooke Cox and Dikar were 11th in the 400-meter relay (58.27 seconds).
The Vian squads were slated to run in Monday’s Keys Invitational to end the regular season.
Then, the Wolverines and Lady Wolverines will begin the postseason at the Class 2A Regional Meet this Saturday in Stroud where they will try to get as many individuals qualified for state.
All top three individuals and relays in each event automatically will qualify for state. Those who finish fourth through seventh are in line to receive at-large bids to state if their times and distances are among the highest non-automatic state qualifiers.
